Swamp of the Sleepers

Beyond the funnel of the Heart the water stands still. Everything the Blight could not swallow settles here: people who lay down to rest by the causeway and never woke; hounds whose masters left; lights on the water that scream in their sleep. The causeway opens only to someone who has laid all three lords of the Heart to rest, and only from level 62.

The mistress of the swamp — the Mother of Nightmares — does not steal souls the way Malkar does. She rocks them to sleep: a cloud of moths lulls the party, and whoever sits down never gets up. Her Cradle lies deep in the mire; at the Lantern on the causeway you can catch your breath.

The Endless Spiral enters this layer from tier 33.
