How to play
The first thirty minutes
Nine steps from “who are you” to the Keepers’ Square. After that the game leads on its own: hints arrive when they are needed. Here the whole road is visible at once — what happens, what to do by hand, and where people usually trip.
A newcomer’s road
Nine steps
Everything the game will tell you in its own words stands here verbatim — the very text you will see on screen.
010—1 minWho you are
The game opens with a choice of Keeper. There are two, and this is not a class for life: the path tier is picked later, at level 25.
What to do
- Kael, a Hunter from the Dead Brook: sturdier (❤ 42), hits the whole pack at once (Arrow Hail, ×1.5). Steadier in a trade and easier to read in your first fight.
- Liara, a Pathfinder who hears souls: thinner (❤ 38), faster (⚡ 8), hits one target three times as hard (Spear of the Source, ×2.6) and heals the party for 15%.
Where people trip
- Do not hunt for the “strong” one — in the first hours the gear you put on matters more than the Keeper you picked.
021—3 minFirst step
The Dead Brook is the first land. Tap the ground and you walk there; things attack on the way.
The game says it itself · in the world
How to walk
Tap the ground and the Keeper will walk there. On a computer, WASD and the arrow keys work.
Dangerous lands are full of the Blight: you can be attacked on the way.
What to do
- Head for the objective marker: the line under the header always says what to do next.
Where people trip
- Do not run from the first wolves — the game leads you by the hand for three fights on purpose.
033—6 minFirst fight
Fights are turn-based; ⚡ speed sets the order. Four buttons: strike, skill, guard, flee.
The game says it itself · in battle
Your turn
Attack is a plain strike. Ability heals or stuns. Defend cuts the damage taken (and taunts the boss). Flee is an attempt to leave the fight.
Keys 1–4 do the same on a computer.
What to do
- Focus one enemy at a time: a wounded one hits just as hard as a whole one, and a dead one does not hit at all.
- Wait for the full Source bar — the ultimate is the strongest thing you have in a fight.
Where people trip
- Do not spend the skill on the last enemy standing: three souls are worth more than one finishing blow.
046—9 minFirst cleansing
The verb of Orunthys is not “kill” but “give the soul back”. Weaken an enemy, cleanse it, and its Echo may walk with you.
The game says it itself · in battle
Return a soul
Weaken the enemy and press “Cleanse” — the soul returns to the Source, and an Echo may follow you.
Cleansing is the main source of ✨ souls and story progress.
What to do
- Bring the enemy to roughly 45% of its health and press Cleanse — the window will not open before the third round.
Where people trip
- Do not finish everything off: a killed enemy gives no soul, and without souls the story stalls.
059—12 minFirst find
Gear drops from about every seventh ordinary enemy and from half the elites. It does not equip itself.
What to do
- Open 👤 Character and press “Equip best”. It is one button, and it is right almost every time.
Where people trip
- Do not save things “for later”: an item in the bag does nothing at all.
0612—15 minFirst death
It will happen, and it is part of the teaching: the first one is forgiven in full.
What to do
- Go back to the Hearth, heal, and pick up potions at the Workshop.
Where people trip
- Do not walk back in on the same health: the next death takes 10% of your gold and some gear durability.
0715—20 minHome
The home by the Dead Brook is not decoration but a console: healing, repairs, forging, training your companions.
The game says it itself · at home
Home by the Dead Brook
Tap the buildings themselves: Hearth Hall heals, Training grows your companions, the Workshop repairs and crafts gear.
What to do
- Walk through every building once — after this you will come back here every half hour.
Where people trip
- Do not walk home on foot: the “Home” button at the bottom gets you there in eight seconds.
0820—25 minWhat to do next
By now the things that will keep you busy for months are open: contracts, the Path, the Codex.
What to do
- Take the daily contracts — three a day, plus two weekly ones.
- Look into the Keeper’s Road: it gathers experience on its own while you play whatever you like.
Where people trip
- Do not chase emblems on day one: the weekly ceiling is 1500, and it is not going anywhere.
0925—30 minThe Square
The Keepers’ Square is where every player meets. Auction, arena, trading and the parcel store are here.
The game says it itself · on the square
The Keepers’ Square
This is where players meet: ⚖ the Auction, ⚔ the 2v2 Arena, 🤝 safe trading, 📦 the parcel Storehouse.
The server keeps all the gold and items of the square.
What to do
- Go and see who is in the world. Every coin and item on the Square is kept by the server, not by your phone.
Where people trip
- Do not sell your first rare find: until level 10 there will be nothing else to wear.
