Shrine Companions — Characters of Orunthys

Store creatures with mechanics of their own

Shrine Companions

Store companions are creatures of their own, with mechanics of their own. Each has its own body, move and a second mechanic, while its strength is fair — that of a story companion: Flora, Garr or Vale. Victory cannot be bought.

Characters

Echoes arrive by the story, while these companions are called from the Store’s Shrine. One law holds for all of them: power is not for sale. Each has its own body — a guardian, a giant, a swift fighter or a glass breaker — and a second mechanic on top of its move, yet each is only as strong as its story twin: a strong mechanic is paid for with a lighter body.

Flora’s twins heal. Sylvar (the Ancient Stag, “Blooming Antlers”), Elowen (Fairy of the Source, “Lantern of the Source”) and Lumira (Sister of Lumi, “Lumira's Light”) heal the most wounded ally; Thalassa (Maiden of the Deep, “Tidal Wave”) and Velaria (the Star Jellyfish, “Star Dew”) also wash poison, burn or weakness off the party.

Garr’s twins hold the line. Aurelion (the Golden-Maned, “Golden Aegis”) and Seraphel (Warden of Light, “Wing of Light”) put a shield on the most wounded — the shield takes the blows first; Voltra (the Storm Hound, “Storm Dash”), Krag (the Stone Guardian, “Granite Fist”), Frostmaw (the Ice Bear, “Frost Roar”), Oakheart (the Forest Giant, “Grip of Roots”) and Ragnor (the War Boar, “Battering Charge”) stun an enemy, and it skips its turn.

Vale’s twins spoil the enemy’s fight. Grimfang (the Bone Wolf, “Bone Howl”) and Umbra (the Shadow Cat, “Shadow Veil”) weaken the strike of the most dangerous enemy; Nyxara (the Moon Lynx, “Moon Mark”) and Morwen (the Harbinger Raven, “Harbinger's Eye”) mark an enemy — for three turns it takes a quarter more damage; Ignivar (the Ash Phoenix, “Ash Feather”) and Drakkar (the Young Dragon, “Dragon Breath”) set it alight, Toxar (the Plague Scorpion, “Plague Sting”) and Obsidius (the Tamed Blight, “Blighted Bite”) poison it — fire and venom burn every turn for three turns.

Second mechanics: Dawnember — “Spark of Hope” (an ally she heals hits 15% harder for two more turns); Stone Mourner — “Mournful Recoil” (returns 20% of the damage taken to the enemy that struck him); Dusk Fox — “Stolen Strength” (after weakening an enemy, hits 20% harder for the next three turns); Aurelion — “Dawn Aegis” (at the start of battle, shields the frailest ally for 15% of their health); Nyxara — “Moon Hunt” (hits marked enemies 25% harder and goes for them first); Ignivar — “Ash Trail” (when an enemy falls, Ignivar sets the sturdiest one left alight); Thalassa — “Deep Tide” (heals 40% more on an ally who is poisoned, burning or weakened); Grimfang — “Hungry Fang” (hits 30% harder against enemies below half health); Sylvar — “Blooming Aura” (at the start of each of its turns, heals every wounded ally for 2% of their health); Voltra — “Chain Lightning” (its stun has a 30% chance to leap to a second enemy too); Morwen — “Omen” (each of her marks gives the Keeper +12 soul energy); Krag — “Granite Skin” (while above half health, takes 20% less damage); Elowen — “Last Lantern” (once per battle, when an ally drops below 25% health, instantly heals them for 20%); Drakkar — “Molten Scales” (an enemy that strikes Drakkar has a 35% chance to catch fire for three turns); Umbra — “Shadow Slip” (the first enemy strike at Umbra in each battle misses); Frostmaw — “Frostbite” (an enemy stunned by Frostmaw is 15% slower for the rest of the battle); Seraphel — “Second Wing” (her shield also falls on a second wounded ally at 40% strength); Toxar — “Neurotoxin” (an enemy under his venom hits 15% weaker); Oakheart — “Deep Roots” (he cannot be stunned or petrified, and poison and burns hurt him at half strength); Velaria — “Star Veil” (an ally she cleanses keeps washing off new poison, burns and weakness for 2 more turns); Ragnor — “Crush” (the charge not only stuns but also hits the target for 50% of his attack); Lumira — “Warm Afterglow” (her healing leaves a shield on the ally — 25% of the amount healed); Obsidius — “Dying Venom” (as he falls, poisons every enemy: 60% of his attack each turn for three turns).

Some cannot be bought on their own: Grimfang and Voltra come only with the “Beastmaster” set; Drakkar comes only with the “Dragon’s Hoard” set; Aurelion, Seraphel and Obsidius come only with the “Legendary Chest” set.
