The Blight did not come from outside. The world drew it in itself — and could not breathe it out.
Eras
At the bottom of the funnel a Keeper finds neither a god nor a beast, but a steady beating under the skin of the world. It calls itself the first breath and says it has been waiting for him in particular.
From that one admission the whole rest of the chronicle grows: infected beasts, stolen voices, the Titan asleep in stone and the three lords of the Heart are consequences, not causes.
